Allison Bergamo

Allison Bergamo Allison M. Bergamo, AKBD
Principal
Allison Bergamo plunged into the interior design and remodeling worlds while restoring her first home – a 125 year–old Victorian in one of Denver’s oldest historic neighborhoods. After spending months covered in drywall dust, living on takeout food and showering at her gym, Allison embarked on a full-time design career. She conceived, designed and managed dozens of remodeling projects for a local kitchen and bath showroom before launching Bergamo Interiors in 2008.

An accredited kitchen and bath designer, Allison’s work has been featured in the Denver Post, Impressions Kitchen & Bath Design (cover story,) Kitchens.com, iBaths.com and Brizo.com. She recently transformed a 100 year–old barn into a stylish “man cave” for DIY Network’s popular remodeling show, Rescue Renovation.

An accomplished writer and blogger, Allison has interviewed a variety of design and culinary experts including Mick DeGiulio, author of Kitchen Centric, and Hosea Rosenberg, winner of Bravo Television’s Top Chef New York. She has been interviewed on design and remodeling trends for several media outlets including iBaths.com, Kitchen Portfolio, Distinguished Living, and iParenting.com. Allison has also been a featured speaker for Design Success University.

In addition to her design training, Allison holds degrees in Journalism and Communication from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is also a graduate of Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center in San Francisco, CA.

More About Allison

My earliest design influence was…
My mom. She fearlessly remodeled and decorated each of our family homes; choosing white sofas and matching chairs despite having four kids, a sheepdog and a cat. She renews my subscription to Traditional Home magazine every year without fail.

When I’m not designing…
I’m playing competitive tennis and not-so-competitive golf.

My favorite destinations are…
San Francisco – because it is home. I spend hours wandering through the food and wine shops at the Ferry Building.

New York – because it is loud, crowded and the best source for design inspiration.

Kona, Hawaii – because I can relax and enjoy the breathtaking sunsets.

I never miss…
Sunday pasta night at home.
